Maria Loizidou
Maria Loizidou is a visual artist who participates in international exhibitions and programmes. She represented Cyprus in the Venice Biennale in 1986 and Biennale of Cairo in 2010. She also participated in Architecture Biennale of Venice in, 2004 and 2006. She collaborated with various museums, such as the Musée d’Art Moderne de Saint Etienne Métropole, the National museum of Contemporary Art of Salonika in 2010, the Benaki museum in Athens in 2008. She realised a project in collaboration with the Metissage French programme of the Ministry of Culture in France, and Le Musee de Beaux Arts, in Lyon, in 2005.
She has collaborated with architect Alexandros Tombazis in creating L’apparition des anges, an installation at the entrance of the Church of the Holy Trinity, in Fatima, Portugal in 2007. She has been a member of the AA&U collective for architecture, art and Urbanism since 2006.
